Unter Jaleo Madrid, we are officially blowing out seven candles! It feels like only yesterday when we held our very first class—a DELE exam preparation session back in 2019. Since then, our memory bank has overflowed: from the excitement of those first steps to the “bittersweet” days of the pandemic, where we offered free online Spanish classes to keep our global community connected during lockdown.
Time has flown, and while the world has changed, Jaleo has grown into a premier destination for those looking to learn Spanish in Madrid.
We’ve evolved from a small project into a high-standard institution. Jaleo Madrid is proudly accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, the gold standard for Spanish language education.

Una de las mejores formas de estudiar español es leyendo el periódico. No necesitamos saber muchísimo para empezar, pero en nuestra cabeza debemos tener claro que para avanzar, iremos poco a poco. No podemos comenzar con un difícil artículo de opinión de 10.000 palabras, sino con una noticia simple de 200. Lo más importante es la satisfacción de comprender. Si tu nivel es medio-bajo, lo mejor es empezar con lo básico. En España, como en otros países, existe el periódico 20 minutos. Este diario se llama así porque dicen que el tiempo que necesitas para leerlo es veinte minutos. Nosotros, como somos nuevos en el idioma, necesitaremos un poco más de tiempo. Eso sí, no mucho más. Parece mentira, pero ya ha llegado de nuevo el 23 de abril, el Día del Libro. En este blog ya os hemos hablado muchas veces de lecturas necesarias tanto para estudiantes, como para profesores. Hoy volvemos a aprovechar este día para repasar algunas acciones que nos ayudarán cuando usamos un libro de lectura para mejorar nuestro aprendizaje de idiomas. Por supuesto, ni son obligatorias, ni son las únicas. Siempre estamos hablando desde nuestra experiencia como estudiantes de idiomas, de nuestros conocimientos como profes y desde lo que nos han contado nuestros estudiantes. Subrayar lo que entiendes: Sí, sí. Como lo lees.
