I moved to Madrid following my partner's job, and spent seven months studying intensively at Jaleo. Not only did I gain a skill that I had wanted for my entire life, but I found it was my favourite thing about living in Spain. Every single staff member is so friendly, welcoming, and flexible, and the team were exactly what I needed to begin to feel at home in Spain. I truly believe I have made friends for life at Jaleo, and it hardly feels like a workplace at all - in Madrid, it was my second home. I really could not have made a better choice. The school is perfect for students of all ages and linguistic backgrounds, and Jaleo creates such a friendly environment for everyone to get to know each other. There are two free extra activities (one at school and one in the city) each week that allow plenty of time to develop friendships with others. The classes are taught 100% in Spanish from day 1, so it does not matter what language you already speak. You will progress quickly and I am so happy each time I speak/hear Spanish now to realise how much I can understand and participate after just seven months. I was studying the B2 classes at the end of my time at Jaleo, and I always felt like I was at the right level of study. I highly recommend Jaleo in every aspect! I miss it so much now I have finished and I'm jealous of new students who will go!

Jaleo no es solo una buena escuela de español, es una comunidad llena de vida que te hace sentir en casa desde el primer día. Las clases son dinámicas, participativas y con un enfoque práctico que hace que aprendas casi sin darte cuenta (learning by doing approach). La verdad, me faltan palabras para describir todo lo bueno que tiene Jaleo. La recomiendo al 100% a todo el mundo. Estoy seguro de que volveré, así que... ¡hasta luego!

I really recommend this school to anyone who´s interested in learning Spanish, I did the intensive classes for 7 months and learnt so much during that time! All the teachers I had were amazing, as well as the teaching methods and materials they used, which was a good mix of following the books but also doing games/activities (a special thank you to Luis who always made our class fun and interesting!). There was always an extra cultural activity every Thursday that lots of students would attend, from visiting museums to making sangria 🙂 ¡Muchas gracias a todos en Jaleo por hacer que mi experiencia allí fuera tan especial!

I attended the Jaleo language school for 8 months (part time course B2 and DELE preparation) and had a fantastic experience! The teachers, especially Alejandra and Carlos, are amazing—very supportive and professional. They helped me a lot with my preparation for the official DELE B2 exam, and thanks to their guidance, I was able to significantly improve my Spanish and successfully pass the B2 exam. I really love our teacher luis! Everyone is very nice and i met my closest friends here in madrid in jaleo. Jaleo not only taught me Spanish but also the culture of Spain.

I spent nearly three months learning Spanish at Jaleo, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From day one, the atmosphere was welcoming and incredibly personal. Everyone at the school was kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping you learn and feel at home — both in the classroom and in Madrid. During my time there, I made real progress in my Spanish, even beyond what I had expected. Much of that is thanks to my amazing teacher, Alejandra. She was not only patient and encouraging, but also made every class fun, creative, and engaging. She always took time to make sure we understood, and she created a space where asking questions and making mistakes felt completely safe and natural.

We enrolled for 6 months when me just moved to Madrid and knew 0 Spanish but the staff speaks English so they’ll be able to help you with anything you need! They have also been very kind and encouraging during our Spanish learning journey and would always ask us how our day went. The teachers are also amazing and possess a lot of patience for us so that we understand the lessons clearly and will help you if you have any doubts! We had a fun time during our stay here and will 100% recommend it to other people who want fun and engaging classes to study Spanish in! They also have events happening every Thursday as well as a book club every Tuesday and we also met some of our friends at this school!

Amazing school! They cover a all the basics, as well as different themes that are necessary to learn in the day to day life. There are extra classes with subjects that forces you to learn about different things in a new language, which I think is really great. All classes covers talking, reading, listening and understanding, and it felt like a super safe place to talk and ask questions. All the teachers are amazing - very helpful, fun and understanding, so I couldn't be more happy with my time here. The students are also great, the school arrange cultural activities, so you get to go outside the classroom with the other students, learn about the city (and class) and learn about something new. Also you meet new friends. Highly recommend Jaleo to anyone!

I highly recommend Jaleo as a great option for learning Spanish in Madrid. All the staff are super friendly and the classes are small and intimate. I spent 4 months there and had a great experience. Luis and Maria Jesus are incredible, patient and knowledgeable teachers and made the experience fun and enjoyable. Marina and Silvana were always very friendly and helpful, not only relating to queries about the course but as well as advice and tips for life in Madrid. I would definitely stop by and say hello if I am ever in Madrid again!!

I started Spanish from scratch at Jaleo on an intensive course and it was the best learning experience of my life. All of the teachers really teach with passion and energy. The classes are extremely interactive and engaging (I did 4 hours a day and more often than not didn't notice the finish time creeping up on us). There's a sense of community amongst the staff that I suspect many new students is partly down with the fact that the school is a cooperative. After about 18 weeks I went from zero spanish to being able to hold 1-1 conversations quite confidently with a good grasp of many of the tenses. I couldn't recommend the place more!

Jaleo is the best Spanish school in Madrid! It is the perfect school to learn Spanish and have fun doing it. The owners and teachers are all experienced professionals. They are experts at engaging and pushing students to learn. I studied for 3 months of intensive classes. My teacher was amazing! I improved my Spanish level, met amazing friends, and had a lot of fun. I highly recommend Jaleo!

I highly recommend Jaleo Madrid! I started with A1 and ended with B1.2/B2 and I loved all my teachers. The classes are small, which gives you a lot of time to practice speaking in Spanish, ask questions, and focus on topics you need extra work on. Everyone in the school is very responsive and easy to talk to. They were able to work with my schedule too! Every Thursday, they also have free cultural activities around Madrid (as well as other activities) where you can socialise with students of different Spanish levels. I've recommended Jaleo to all my friends and would love to return for more lessons in the future.

A Fantastic Place to Learn Spanish and Build Connections! I attended Jaleo Language School for six months, and I can't recommend it enough! When I first started, I knew about two words of Spanish, but now I feel confident navigating the city on my own and even making friends with people who only speak Spanish. The staff at Jaleo made me feel very welcome from day one, and the environment quickly became like one big family. What really sets Jaleo apart is how they create a community. They host a lot of events where students get together, no matter their level, and learn together—learning is both fun and social. My teacher, Cristina, was incredible—she was patient, fun, and flexible with her teaching style, adapting to the different learning speeds in the class. It felt like everyone's progress mattered. One of the best parts of the experience was meeting people from all over the world. I not only learned Spanish, but I made amazing friends along the way. If you're looking to learn Spanish and settle into life in Madrid, Jaleo is the perfect place to start. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Hice un curso de 24 semanas en Jaleo. El ambiente en Jaleo y los profesores son muy amables y siempre responden amablemente a las preguntas de cada estudiante. Además, ofrecen actividades gratuitas e interesantes cada semana fuera de las clases, lo que me dio la oportunidad de aprender español también fuera del aula. Además, después de terminar el curso, me explicaron detalladamente sobre la extensión de la visa, brindándome un excelente servicio posterior.
