At the same time, students can feel more comfortable filling out blanks or answering from multiple-choice questions because it is easier and everything seems black and white. However, as teachers, we know grammar has a lot of grey areas and does not always provide one clear answer; we just know how to bend and mold the language to communicate what we want to say.
In Jaleo Madrid, we think languages should be spoken and help us communicate, not complete worksheets. We want our students to feel comfortable and confident speaking Spanish from their very first day and that is why our students love our conversation classes. These classes focus on real-life topics that will help you to study grammar in action without worrying about structure, verb tenses and grammar. The role of the teacher during these classes is to make corrections and to encourage students to help them overcome their fear of speaking Spanish and making mistakes.
In each class we will provide topics of conversation that we know will be motivating and encourage active participation through open exchange of thoughts and ideas. As we have said, we learn by doing!
